
Introduction
Another Fall and Winter favorite! This is a Charlestonian tradition from my great grandfather. The perfect snack or appetizer for all holiday occasions. Simple and full of flavor, you can’t beat it. Comment down below what you think!
Ingredients You Will Need
- 2 sticks of butter
- 1/8 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 pinch of red pepper
- 1 pound of sharp cheddar cheese grated
- 2 cups of self rising flour
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350
- Mix together butter, garlic, pepper, and cheese
- Slowly add flour and mix as if it is a pie crust
- Roll into logs the diamter of a penny
- Wrap logs into waxed paper
- Refrigerate over night
- Cut into penny sized slices (not too thin)
- Bake on a cookie sheet for about 15 minutes or until light brown
- Remove immediately from the cookie sheet and allow to cool thoroughly before storing in an airtight tin.
