Warm Glazed Pecans

Introduction

Another Fall and Winter favorite! This is a Charlestonian tradition from my mom’s grandma. Sweet, glazed pecans are a perfect snack or dessert for all holiday occasions. You can even top your favorite vanilla bean ice cream with these nuts! Simple and full of flavor, you can’t beat it. Pairs perfectly with your favorite sweater and a warm cup of coffee. Ingredients You Will Need

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 2 cups of pecan halves

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, cinnamon, and evaporated milk in a saucepan
  2. Cook over medium heat until it boils at 234 degrees or a soft ball stage
  3. Remove from heat and add water and vanilla
  4. Mix well
  5. Stir in pecans until coated
  6. Spoon in one layer over waxed paper and separate nuts
  7. Let cool enough to enjoy
